The B1451 is a loop of the A52 to serve Skegness Sea Front. The road was originally unclassified; owing to its short length it is not known exactly when it gained its number but it was definitely the B1451 by the mid-1950s.
The road starts on the Lumley Square gyratory on the A52 and heads east along Lumley Road, one of the town's shopping streets. A clock tower becomes visible in the distance and the road becomes dual for the last stretch before reaching this, which is in the centre of a roundabout. We turn left onto Grand Parade.
We continue north, lined with seafront attractions; the sea is off to the right and is invisible from the road. Presently a mini-roundabout is reached where we turn left. We head back inland along the residential Castleton Boulevard, which quickly becomes D2 (although one lane on both sides is generally left for parking). It's not long before we reach traffic lights where we rejoin the A52. The road ahead is the A158.
