|Route outline (key)|
The B2122 runs through Leatherhead town centre. The road was originally numbered A246 to the west of town and A24 to the east, then became the A2012 following construction of the bypass; the ex-A24 gained that number a few years before the ex-A246. The B2122 number is comparatively recent.
The road starts at a roundabout at the western end of the A246 southern bypass and heads northeastwards into town along the residential Guildford Road. After going under the railway line a roundabout is reached; the A2012 continued ahead here over the River Mole into the town centre but this route is closed to through traffic so we bear left onto Waterway Road alongside the railway. After crossing the river we reach the A245 one-way system.
Eastbound traffic on the B2122 has to go round three sides of the loop, going under the railway line twice, before the B2122 bears left to regain its number; westbound traffic follows a much shorter route. We follow Leret Way, a town-centre relief road, to reach traffic lights where the B2122 TOTSOs left (right is the B2450) to rejoin the old road. We head out of town along Epsom Road to end at a roundabout on the A24 and A243.
