This article is about the current B2141, forming part of the route from Petersfield to Chichester.
For the original B2141 in Worthing, now numbered A2031, see B2141 (Worthing)
The B2141 is a good quality 'B' road forming part of the route from Petersfield to Chichester. The road was originally unclassified but gained its number in 1935.
Starting just south of South Harting on the B2146, the B2141 first makes a steep twisting climb up the northern escarpment of the South Downs. Having climbed over 450 feet in just over half a mile it's all downhill from here. The road is generally straight, with a few tighter curves, notably at Chilgrove. After this it widens and straightens to a quality that would put some primary A roads to shame. The road ends on the A286 just north of Mid Lavant. The scenery throughout is excellent as the road is entirely within the South Downs, though the quality of the road's alignment is unusually good for a cross-downland route.
