The B2185 is a short link road in Hove. The majority of the road was originally numbered B2123 and then became the A2023 in the 1930s. In the 1960s that road was rerouted and so the B2185 came about.
The road starts at traffic lights on the A259 Kingsway on the sea front and heads north along Grand Avenue. This is a wide dual-carriageway with a statue of Queen Victoria in the central reservation at the start of the road. Things soon become less grand, however, as the central reservation is then used for parking and the road is lined with post-WWII tower blocks.
After another statue (a war memorial) the buildings lining the road become older. We cross the B2066 and the unclassified Eaton Road at traffic lights, after which the central reservation car park disappears. At the next set of lights we cross the B2120, which links to the station, then go over the railway line. There's then a short descent to the end of the road at a signalised junction on the A270.
