Route outline (key) | ||||
|
The B2206 was allocated to part of the former route of the A299 (originally classified as the B2045), when it was rerouted onto the newly built Thanet Way around 1933. Today, following further upgrading of Thanet Way, the road is now unclassified.
Starting where the B2205 and A291 met end-on to the south of Herne Bay town centre, the road headed east up Mickleburgh Hill. After meeting Reculver Road and going over the railway line it turned sharply left to end on the A299 at a junction which was altered beyond recognition when the A299 was given its present route.
