The B2220 forms a loop off the B2032 through the Surrey village of Walton on the Hill. The road was originally unclassified but gained its number in the late 1930s.
Starting on the B2032 on Walton Heath just inside the M25 the road heads northwards and soon enters Walton on the Hill. Here we bear right and run along the main street. After passing the duck pond there's a brief rural section as we go through a wood, although the speed limit does not increase.
After the B290 comes in from the right we enter Tadworth. Following a short multiplex (with the B2220 dominant) the B290 turns left at a roundabout and we go over the branch line to Tattenham Corner before continuing through town along Tadworth Street. It's not long before the road ends at a large signalised roundabout, where it meets the A217 and B2032.
