The B2227 is a short link road running along the boundary between the London Boroughs of Lewisham and Southwark. The route was unclassified for many years; its short length means that it is difficult to determine from maps the date at which it acquired its number.
Starting at traffic lights on the A202 Queen's Road, at the point which is also the northern terminus of the A2214, it heads north along the residential Pomeroy Street. Access is, in fact, only allowed from the A2214; turns into the roads from either A202 direction are prohibited. With a 20 mph speed limit for its entire length, the B2227 does not have the air of a main road and indeed some maps mark it as unclassified. Further, the road does not appear to be signed on the ground at all.
We pass some industrial premises about halfway along before the road becomes residential once again. After about a quarter of a mile the route concludes at traffic lights on the A2 New Cross Road. Traffic emerging from the B2227 may turn left only, but all movements are allowed from the A2.
