The B2247 runs along part of the original line of the A27 in the northern suburbs of Eastbourne.
The road starts at traffic lights in Stone Cross, where the B2104 used to cross the A27 at a staggered crossroads. Now the former A27 to the east is unclassified whilst the B2247 heads west. We follow the residential Dittons Road and become semi-rural before a roundabout is reached where we cross the A22.
On the far side of the roundabout the B2247 soon becomes built-up once more as it heads into Polegate. The railway line comes in from the right and we pass the old station, closed in 1986 when a new station was opened closer to the town centre. The road then bends to the right and crosses a mini-roundabout which leads to the town centre. We head north out of town and run alongside the A27 for a short distance before ending at a large roundabout where we meet that road and the A22 once more.
