The B302 is a short road in Chelsea.
The road starts on the bank of the River Thames, at traffic lights on the A3212 Chelsea Embankment, and heads northeast along Royal Hospital Road. We soon pass through the grounds of the eponymous Hospital, with the main building on the right and Burton Court (a recreational space) on the left. Continuing on, it's not long before the end of the road at traffic lights on the A3216 Chelsea Bridge Road. Ahead is the A3214.
In 1922 Royal Hospital Road was unclassified. The B302 ran south along Chelsea Bridge Road, crossing Chelsea Bridge and passing Battersea Park. It then zigzagged under the railway lines in Battersea before ending on the A3 at Clapham Common. All of this is now A3216.
Owing to the short length of the road and its location in central London it is not known exactly when the change happened, or if the original and current routes of the B302 ever existed at the same time.
