This article is about the original B3155 (today part of the B3156), from Wyke Regis to Westham.
For the current B3155 (formerly part of the A353), from Weymouth to Preston, see B3155.
For the current B3155 (formerly part of the A353), from Weymouth to Preston, see B3155.
From 1922 until 1935, the B3155 headed north from the A37 (now A354) at Wyke Regis along Portland Road and Lanehouse Rocks Road (with a slight dogleg on Wyke Road) to meet the B3157 at Chickerell Road in Westham.
However, in 1935 the numbering system was revised and short routes like this one became spurs of the main route, rather than having numbers of their own. The B3155 therefore became a spur of the B3157. When that road was rerouted to the north the ex-B3155 became a part of the current B3156 (which is not to be confused with the nearby but different route – now the B3153 – which bore that number from 1922 until some time in the 1960s).
