This article is about the original B3214 that ran from near Tiverton to Crediton, Devon.
For the present B3214 in Plymouth, see B3214.
For the present B3214 in Plymouth, see B3214.
The original B3214 ran through mid-Devon.
The road started south of Tiverton on the A396 by Cadeleigh station, actually nearer Bickleigh than Cadeleigh, and headed southwestwards. After a steep climb out of the Exe Valley it crossed the undulating countryside, managing to avoid all the villages it could have served. Presently the road reached Crediton, where it ended on the A377 on the eastern side of the town centre.
In the 1960s, the road was renumbered as part of an extension of the A3072, which it remains.
