The B3248 number was originally allocated to a short road on the Rame Peninsula in Cornwall.
It started on the A389 (now A374) in Antony, a few miles west of Torpoint. It headed southwest up Antony Hill before ending after just over a mile on the B3247 by Tregantle Fort.
In 1935, the road was renumbered as a spur of the B3247, which it remains.
