The B3388 was a short B-road through the eastern suburbs of Bradford-on-Avon. Owing to its short length its history is not fully known. However, the road gained its number in the mid-1930s. It has retained Class II status since then, although the southern half of the road, Woolley Street, has been bypassed; however, the road is now a spur of the B3109 and could have been renumbered in 1935 or at any time since.
The road started on the A3053 (now B3107) as that road moved from Woolley Street onto Holt Road. The B3388 continued along Woolley Street, a narrow steep hill whose first section is now one-way. The road levelled out and widened before turning left into New Road. It continued to climb, bearing gently to the left for the rest of its route. The road ended where the B3109 came in from Sladesbrook on the right and continued ahead along the remainder of New Road.
