The B349 is a short B-road in Barnes, southwest London. The road was originally unclassified but had gained its number by the 1950s (and possibly earlier).
The road starts at a triangle on the A3003 Barnes High Street and heads southeast along Station Road. Suburban houses line the right of the road whilst Barnes Green is on the left (the green area is temporarily hidden by the Old Sorting Office Arts Centre and the Methodist Church). After crossing a stream there are buildings on both sides and we soon reach a mini-roundabout. Station Road continues ahead to the station whilst the B349 bears left.
We continue east along Mill Hill Road and start to cross Barnes Common almost immediately. There's a brief – and unexpected – housing development on the right and then we cross the A306 at traffic lights. Our route across the Common continues on the far side and the road does appear quite rural were it not for the pavement and streetlights. Barnes Common almost seamlessly becomes Putney Lower Common as we cross the London Borough boundary and pass a small cemetery. We soon end at a mini-roundabout on the B306 back within sight of housing once more.
