|Route outline (key)|
The B4222 is a short rural B-road to the north of the Forest of Dean.
It starts on the B4224 to the south of the village of Lea and heads east. It appears to begin with to be an S1 minor country lane. The road soon reaches the edge of Lea itself, where it crosses the A40 at a staggered crossroads controlled by traffic lights.
Now S2, the road heads northeast out of Lea and goes on to Aston Crews where the road reaches a T-junction and TOTSOs left. Confusingly, signage claims that the road to the right is the B4222 to Lea rather than the road just taken. The next village is Aston Ingham, after which the B4222 enters Gloucestershire and soon terminates at Kilcot on the B4221.
