This article is about the original B4300 across the Black Mountain.

The original route of the B4300 crossed the Black Mountain in eastern Carmarthenshire.
The road started on the A474 in Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen and headed north into Brynamman, where it met the western end of the B4299, before climbing up onto the moors.
After reaching a summit of over 1600 feet near Foel Fawr it descended, with the descent steeper and more winding than the climb. The road reached the valley of the River Sawdde and followed that north to Llangadog, where it ended in the centre of the village on the A40.
The road was upgraded to Class I status in 1935. It was renumbered A4069, which it remains.
