The B4316 is a loop off the A478 to serve the Pembrokeshire coastal town of Saundersfoot.
It starts in Pentlepoir, south of Kilgetty. It heads east and soon goes under the Pembroke Dock branch line next to Saundersfoot station. The town of Saundersfoot, however, is still a mile away. The road passes around a one-way loop in the town centre before climbing Broadfield Hill out of town.
The road continues ahead to reach a roundabout on the A478 to the north of New Hedges. This is the original southern end of the B4316; however, there is a left turn just before the roundabout along the pre-bypass route of the A478 through New Hedges, which is now the B4316. It rejoins the A478 at the southern end of the bypass on the way to Tenby, meaning that the B4316 meets the A-road three times.
