|Route outline (key)|
The B4359 is a short urban link road on the northern side of Hereford city centre. It runs along the original route of the A49; owing to the short length of the road it is not certain when it gained its present number.
The road starts at a roundabout by a retail park where the A49 turns from Newtown Road into Edgar Street. The B4359 continues along the residential Newtown Road to reach a mini-roundabout, where it bears right into Widemarsh Street. It now heads southwards past the ancient Coningsby Hospital. The next right turn is the signed route to the city centre. The road then continues a short distance further to reach traffic lights on the A438. During the day traffic may only turn left but all movements are possible out of hours, when traffic is lighter.
