The B4585 is a short loop off the A4139 Pembroke Dock to Tenby road serving the village of Manorbier. It was originally unclassified but gained its number in 1935.
We turn off the A4139 at Bier Cross and head south. The road initially was part of the A-road until that road was straightened but after the first road junction we are on the B4585 proper. We continue along a narrow road between high hedges, with the fields to either side largely invisible. The road quickly enters Manorbier and becomes built-up. Although the houses are modern to begin with we soon reach the old village centre. A couple of bends take us to the entrance to the castle, after which a road bears off right towards the beach. There are two identical road signs here pointing in opposite directions along the B4585 - as indeed traffic may go either way to get to the same point.
We pass below the community centre before heading east past a café and pub. The road now widens as we reenter the suburbs and then reach open country as an S2. After passing a turn for a beach and youth hostel we pass the former military accommodation at Skrinkle before bearing left to return to the A4139.
