The B5138 is a short urban link road on the Wirral.
The road starts at traffic lights on the A540 in the centre of Heswall and heads north along Pensby Road into Pensby. For a short distance there are only houses on the left of the road although the road does still seem quite urban.
The road now moves seamlessly from Pensby into Thingwall. It goes through the village before ending at a roundabout on the A551 within sight of open fields. This is the closest the road gets to being rural.
