The B518 is an urban B-road in north London.
It starts on the edge of Hampstead at traffic lights on the A502 and heads east along Pond Street, passing the Royal Free Hampstead Hospital, before reaching a crossroads. This is the start of a one-way loop.
Eastbound traffic goes straight on (having to give way to the unclassified cross street) and follows Constantine Road and Agincourt Road to a set of traffic lights. It TOTSOs left here to rejoin the westbound B518. That follows the original line of the B518: it goes straight across the traffic lights into Fleet Road then TOTSOs left into Pond street.
The B518 continues east from the traffic lights (where it also meets the B517) along Mansfield Road. It passes Gospel Oak station and goes under the two railway lines served by the station. A short distance further a set of traffic lights is reached and the B518 TOTSOs right into Highgate Road.
It goes under the GOBLIN once more before reaching Kentish Town fire station. There is a left turn afterwards signposted to the northbound A400 (reaching that road one block east at a T-junction) but officially the B518 continues ahead to traffic lights on the A400 where traffic can only continue south. Kentish Town station is just ahead.
