The B5370 is a short urban road in Newcastle-under-Lyme, the main part of which has, since 2007, followed the former alignment of the A527 through Porthill.
The route starts in Wolstanton, at the point where the northbound A527 today TOTSOs right from Church Lane to head towards the A500, Queensway. The B5370 runs north from here, Church Lane soon becoming Wolstanton High Street. The shops passed, the High Street continues for another 400 metres to reach a roundabout by St Andrew's church, Porthill. Here, we turn right to follow Porthill Bank for nearly 600 metres north-eastward to meet the A500 and A5271 at a grade-separated junction, where the "main line" of our route ends (this appears, incidentally, to be the only point at which the B5370 road number is signposted).
Had we turned left instead of right at the previously mentioned roundabout in Porthill we could have followed a branch which, from the late 1920s (it had previously been unclassified) until 2007, made up the entire length of the B5370. This branch runs south-westward for 500 metres along the terraced-house-lined Watlands View to reach the B5369 Dimsdale Parade.
