The former B556 (now A5120) south of Toddington
The B556 was a rural B-road in southern Bedfordshire.
It started on the A5 in Dunstable and headed vaguely northward. It went through Houghton Regis and Toddington before crossing the Midland Mainline at Flitwick. It ended in the centre of Ampthill at a junction with the A418 and A507.
In 1935 the entire road was renumbered A5120. Ampthill has since been bypassed by the A507 and so the northern end of the former B556 is now unclassified; the rest remains numbered A5120.
