B6031 (Mansfield - Ollerton)

Robin Hood Crossroads on the B6030 (former B6031)

The B6031 was the original number of the road from Mansfield across Sherwood Forest to Ollerton.

Starting on the A60 to the south of Mansfield town centre it headed northeast through what was then countryside. After zigzagging through Clipstone (the modern Kings Clipstone) it crossed the B6034 to end on the A614 to the south of Ollerton.

In the mid-1920s the road was renumbered as an eastern extension of the A611. In the early 1970s the main road was transferred to the parallel B6033 (which became the A6075). As a result the ex-B6031 was downgraded again, albeit to the B6030, which it remains, as its original number had already been reused.
