|Route outline (key)|
The B6176 is a short link road in Stalybridge town centre.
The route starts at traffic lights on the A635 Stamford Street and heads east-south-east along Rassbottom Street. It passes the station, then goes under the Manchester to Huddersfield railway line before reaching the town's market square.
Originally the B6176 ended here, with the B6175 continuing ahead along Market Street, having come in from the right along Shepley Street. This is still part of a branch section of the B6175, but the mainline of that route nows follows a more southerly course.
Market Street ahead of this junction is now one-way westbound, so that traffic wishing to continue eastward must detour by turning left into King Street and then right into Waterloo Road (both of these roads are unclassified).
After zigzagging across an intersection with Waterloo Road and Trinity Street, the B6176 Market Street (now once again two-way) then continues for some 70 metres or so to terminate at its meeting with the A6018.
