This article is about the original B659 near Bedford.

For the current B659, formerly A6001, see B659.
The B659 was a short link road in the Fenlake area of Bedford.
It started on the A603 Cardington Road and headed south along Eastcotts Road, ending less than half a mile later on the A600 Harrowden Road and B562 Cambridge Road.
Around 1935 the B659 was renumbered as a spur of the B562. Then in the 1960s the entire of the B562 except for this spur was upgraded to Class I status. This is the situation that exists today, explaining why the original route of the B659 and the current route of the B562 are identical, despite the latter being out-of-zone.
