The now-unclassified Wanlip Road

For a short period in the 1980s/early 1990s, the B673 number was applied to Wanlip Road and Fillingate in Syston, to the north of Leicester.

The road started on the then-A607 Melton Road just south of the Midland Main Line. It headed west along Wanlip Road to cross the then-B6670 Fosse Way (the original route of the A46) and then passed to the north of Wanlip to end on the A6 at Wanlip Hill.

Following the completion of the A46 Leicester Northern Bypass and A607 Syston Bypass, this road is now unclassified, although much of the western half has had the A46 built on top of it.
