The B72 is a one-way route through St Helier town centre. It starts on the former A8, Conway Street, and heads north west along Broad Street to Charing Cross. This is a busy shopping street, home to many of the ancillary shops and businesses that make up any town centre. At Charing Cross, the route forks right into York Street, which leads to The Parade, past the Parade Gardens. At Gloucester Street, the B72 comes to an end, the onward route being the A9.
At the start of the route, the status of Conway Street is not clear. It may still be a disconnected section of the A8, or it may be that the B72 has been extended southwards along it to the Esplanade.
