The B79 forms part of the eastern side of the St Helier Ring Road. It starts at an inconspicuous T junction on the A4 at Havre des Pas, and heads north along Green Street to a roundabout junction with the A17 at the eastern end of the Tunnel. Beyond the roundabout, the B79 is part of the ring road, continuing along Green Street to a fork. Here the B79 forks left along Grenville Street as the anti-clockwise part of the ring road, the right fork being the B84, which forms the clockwise section. Grenville Street soon comes to an end on the former A3, with ring road traffic turning right onto the A6.
