Bala / Y Bala is a town in the Snowdonia National Park, Wales, just to the north of Llyn Tegid (Bala Lake). It is a Primary Destination on the A494. The A4212 runs westwards to Trawsfynydd, providing a link to Porthmadog and Blaenau Ffestiniog, while the B4391 runs eastwards around Y Berwyn.
The town is one of the strongest supporters of the Welsh language, and as well as the expected bilingual road signs and markings, most shops along the road are signed in Welsh too.
