Bankfoot Crossroads was originally a sharply skewed crossroads between the A95 and B9025 in Banffshire. However, at some point since the 1960s the junction has been realigned to create a staggered crossroads in order to improve visibility and safety. Both routes are reasonably straight through the junction, but while the A95 straight is quite short, the B9025 hardly has a bend for around four miles. It is therefore this route which has been turned either side of the original junction to form the stagger, although the line of the old road is easy to trace and remains tarred on the northern side. This northern part of the B9025 is a short cut across to the westbound A98 and Portsoy, and as such seems to be a fairly busy route in comparison to the southern arm. The A95 maintains priority through the junction, which is considered quiet enough to not need turning lanes.
