Belle Craig Roundabout is a four-arm roundabout on the A726 to the north of the village of Eaglesham. In many ways it is an aberration, as it is the only at grade, or flat roundabout on the otherwise grade separated Glasgow Southern Orbital (GSO). This route was entirely new build and completed in 2005 to provide a dualled connection between the M77 to the west and the M74 and M8 to the east, without having to pass through Glasgow's sprawling suburbs. The north-south route which connects to the A726 is the B767, the primary access to Eaglesham, which also runs north through the village of Waterfoot and on into Busby, now one of Glasgow's outer suburbs. This route is also a signed diversion for overheight traffic to avoid a low bridge on the A727.
The roundabout itself has up to three spiralled circulatory lanes, with each of the four arms gaining a lane on the approach to accommodate turning traffic. The roundabout is, perhaps surprisingly, not signalised, possibly because the GSO route has yet to reach the anticipated traffic volumes.
