This small roundabout is much smaller than its near neighbour at Craiglinn Roundabout, however in some respects it performs a more important job. The B8048 connecting the two is dualled, with the dualling continuing along the apparently unclassified link which runs down to join the M80 slips (no access to the motorway) at the start of the A8011 Cumbernauld road. The B8048 itself continues eastwards to meet the M80 properly at Auchenkilns Junction, where the A73 starts.
