Blacow Bridge is junction 30 of the M6 and the northern terminus of the M61. It was completed in 1969, and was built with provision for the then under consideration alternative line of the M65, which would have crossed the M6 here. These stub ramps were removed when the M6 was widened in 1995 as the M61 slip roads were extended to have a smoother connection.
