Borrowfield Junction is a wide fork junction to the north of Montrose between the A92 and A937. The A92 heads north from the town centre on North Esk Road before kinking right onto Charleton Road, while the A937 continues ahead onto Coronation Avenue. An old toll house sits in the apex of the junction, with a wide apron of tarmac in front to allow for turning traffic doubling back around it. Unfortunately, while the southern arm of the A92 has two lanes for queuing traffic, allowing it to be separated, the northern arm does not have this luxury, forcing most other movements to stop in case something wishes to turn right onto the A937. The layout of the junction does, however, mean that traffic coming out of town for the A937 gets a constant green light.
