Broadmead Roundabout is a junction constructed in the 1960s when the Keynsham Bypass was built. In 1972 plans were made to extend the bypass eastwards around the village of Saltford. The roundabout would be enlarged and the A4 would pass over it. Orders were made for this scheme but it was never built. Plans keep resurfacing for a Saltford Bypass but nothing concrete has ever been proposed since 1972 and major changes to Broadmead are unlikely in any event.
