Brownhill Roundabout is a major junction between the A6119 and A666 to the north of Blackburn. It was originally opened in 1927 with the rest of the A6119 as a normal roundabout, but increasing volumes of traffic forced the Department of Transport to modify the junction to the current signalised affair it is today in 1995. This work seemed a bit redundant as the M65 opened just two years later, but travelling through the junction today shows just how busy this area still is.
