The Burcortt Road Junction is a straightforward crossroads roughly at the middle of Strawberry Way, the western flank of the Wells Relief Road. This road was built along the trackbed of three former railway lines, the Cheddar Valley Railway, the Wells Branch of the Somerset & Dorset and the East Somerset, which at one time all had their own stations and no through trains!
The junction is signal controlled, with the A39 / A371 multiplex opening out to provide left and right turning lanes, the right-turn lanes being unusual as they face each other on what appears to be the wrong sides of the traffic islands. The cross-road, Burcott Road, serves a residential area to the west, and then becomes Tucker Street as it heads into the small city centre to the east.
