Butlers Green Junction pre-dates the town and is shown on the 1632 estate map. Originally the road heading east to west was the A272, however due to the A272 relief road opening in 2015 it is now the B2272. Isaac's lane, now Bolnore Farm Road has had many iterations. Originally it was the B2028, which went all the way to Burgess Hill, however it was renumber A273. In 2000 as the start of the Haywards Heath Relief Road was built, this section of road was T'd and the A273 was moved a few hundred meters west. Some maps showed the junction as being a roundabout, however there is no solid evidence that this was the case, however there is a possibility that it could of been a mini roundabout for a few years before 2000.
