The C1027 is a Y shaped route, with two starting points on the A832 near Munlochy. The first is a crossroads with the B9161 at the east end of the village, the second perhaps a mile further east. The two arms climb the hill, and meet at a T junction. The C1027 continues to climb, up into Findon Forest with a summit near Roskill, before dropping steadily to the B9169 a short distance east of Culbokie.
