For other roads numbered C10, see C10.
The C10 starts at Toward to the south of Dunoon and initially follows the former route of the A815 west to Port Lamont at the mouth of Loch Striven. The A815 was curtailed in recent years, as were several other routes in the south of Argyll. The A815 had presumably extended this far to serve the pier at Toward Point and the jetty at Port Lamont. However, both have fallen into disuse in the intervening years.
Continuing north from Port Lamont, the road has always been unclassified, and follows the shore of Loch Striven for several miles to the entrance gateway for the Glen Striven Estate. Along the way it passes a scattering of houses, and also curves around the shore side of the little church at Inverchaolain, which sits in a little wooded glade next to the farm. The estate roads continue north for another couple of miles, and then a very boggy and difficult to follow path continues to the head of the loch, where it meets the B836 at Ardtarig.
