The C1100 runs from the A862 at Drumreach, near Inchmore, to a further junction with the A862 at Brochies Corner.
The first section of the C1100, from the A862 at Drumreach to a junction with the C1102 at Moniack Bridge was previously the A9, on its original route around the Beauly Firth, before it was realigned onto a new crossing of the Moniack Burn a short distance downstream. The bridge is now in a poor state of repair and is closed to motor vehicles, resulting in this section of the road being a no-through route.
The C1100 resumes a short distance further south along the C1102 at a junction at Moniack Castle, it continues west, through Balchraggan, to terminate on the A862 at Brochies Corner, near the latter's junction with the A833.
