The C1121 is, in part at least, the former A9 through the village of Tomatin. However, it is not all of the old main road. It starts at the northern end of the bypass, where the old line has been turned to meet the new A9, and follows the old road under the railway and into the village. The C1121 then TOTSOs with a U road, which forms the rest of the old A9, just before the Findhorn Bridge, and heads south west into Strathdearn. The road runs for just over three miles, running alongside the River Findhorn, past scattered houses and a pretty riverside church before reaching a junction at Garbole. This is the end of the C1121, with the onward routes both down the glen and over the hill to Farr both being U roads.
