The C1163 is an L shaped route to the south west of Nairn. It starts on the B9092 near Delnies and heads south across the A96 and down to a T junction with the C1170 Moss-side Road. When the Nairn Bypass starts construction in a few years time, it will cross the C1163 in this area. After crossing the railway, the route reaches the B9091, with a short multiplex along the middle of a double bend on the B road. As the B9091 swings back to the west, the C1163 continues south before turning sharply east and running up to the B9090 just above Howford Bridge.
