This article is about the Class III road numbered C1172 maintained by Highland Council.

The C1172 starts on the A96 Auldearn bypass, indeed it is the only intermediate junction on the bypass, and zig-zags north past Boath House. After a T junction, it straightens up and apart from a wiggle over the railway bridge, the last half mile or so runs straight to the C1159 at Drum. Before the construction of the Auldearn Bypass, this route started in the village, but Boath Road is now a dead end, severed by the bypass.
