The C1207 runs from Tain town centre out to the bypass, although it is not quite that simple! It starts on the C1206, the obvious, if narrow, continuation to the B9174 along St Duthus Road being a U road. The C1207 heads south west along Scotsburn Road, past the academy to Cameron Road. Here, it is forced to dog-leg left, right to meet the A9, as a more direct junction would have been to close to being a crossroads on the bypass. The rest of Scotsburn Road, climbing the hill, is the C1012
