The C1221 is the main road into the pretty village of Plockton, made famous as home to Hamish MacBeth in the BBC series. It starts on the former A87 route, now the C1232 a short distance to the east of Erbusaig and heads north via Drumbuie to Duirnish. Here, the village lies on either sides of a small stream, and the road climbs up to cross a high arch bridge over the water. The route then curves past woodland and forestry to meet the railway. After briefly running alongside, the road crosses over the railway near the airport and High School. From here, it is just a short run down to the village itself, where the road curves along the shore and comes to an end at the north end of the bay, with a maze of side streets and lanes leading to other parts of the village.
