The C1229 is the continuation of the A850 beyond Dunvegan Castle. Indeed, the first couple of hundred metres or so appear to have previously been part of the A850. It runs north west along the shore of Loch Dunvegan, then climbs a little away from the shore, and comes to an end next to a car park at Caligan.
