The C12 is a rural class III road in Hertfordshire, serving the village of Wyddial. It is narrow and twisting for much of its length, with no pedestrian footway. It starts on the C170 in Buntingford town centre, and travels east. The first section is one way eastbound. It then TOTSOs to the right before heading into open countryside. After the village of Wyddial, it again travels through countrywide, crossing the River Quin at Cave Bridge, before giving way at Cave Gate, a staggered crossroads junction on the B1368.
