|Route outline (key)|
The C15S is a lengthy route which starts on the B9170 just west of Cuminestown and heads north. At first it climbs steadily up to Hillhead of Litterty, and then drops down to meet the B9105 at Cauldwells. A short distance further on, it also crosses the A98, and then navigates a couple of sharp bends between Clayfarbie and Netherbrae. Heading north once more, it climbs over the side of the Hill of Troup, before dropping to meet the B9031 at Dubford. Between Netherbrae and Dubford, the route runs through Banffshire, and so was formerly the C23L.
